July N400 Statistics!!!

The statistics are pretty brutal :( Unless they start increasing processing performance it would seem that it is inevitable to see slower naturalization times across the board. Backlog is at double what it was a year ago.

Good news on the N400 statistics is that the denied applications decreased from 2006 to 2007! Increase the number of application all you want, as long as more people are approved, right?

I am a bit sceptical about the July overall numbers. Over 300,000 I-485s were received in the month of July - total applications does not show that clearly.

However, assuming the numbers are correct, the sobering fact is that total pending applications went up by 4% ,BUT pending n-400 applications went up by 80%! What it means is that USCIS has decided to slow N-400 process and take up the slack to process EAD/AP cards etc for the 485 applications that came in July. Now with the new green cards that will be needed to replace the older non-expiry ones, another 800,000 applications will come in over the next 3 months! I hope once again, it is not at the expense of delays in naturalization application processing.
Thanks Jedi!

I'm just glad that my July application didn't get lost in the mix with all them applications in July!! Ahhhhh.....now the waiting game begins for me....how wonderful!!!;)

Its amazing that over 473k N-400 applications were carried over from fiscal year 2006. I am sure processing will slow down, but not drastically. I just submitted my application, so lets see how this goes. If you look at the process for other immigration types, the N-400 is the simplest in terms of proof required and depth of interview. (This is just my opinion.)

In any case - we shall see.
