Hi folks,
I am in the same boat as several others. I am a USC and had applied for my parents greencard - I130, I485, Travel documents etc. I had mailed on July 27 and it reached the Chicago center on the 30th. Till date I have not recieved anything - no receipt date, no notice date, no checks cashed - NOTHING.
I am starting to get worried about a couple of things
1) My parents came on a 6 month visitor visa. We applied for their green cards on their 3rd month here, based on the opinions shared here. What if I do not get the receipt number or notice date for another month. Am I pushing it too close. Should I apply for their extension of stay? I heard that you do not need to file for their extension once they have the petition. Is just USPS tracking number considered sufficient or am I taking a risk
2) What if they find issues in the application and send them back. Do I have to restart and pay all the new fees or would I get grandfathered in to the prior to July 30th fees.
I am just appaled at the glacial pace at which things are with INS. With global warming it should be faster - right
Help me out guys...
Thanks
Ramesh
