July 2002 I485 Approved!!!

Folks,
Wait is over :) ; status changed on my July 02 I485 to APPROVED. Online status says an approval notice was mailed on Sept 9 2004. Still waiting for the notice to arrive.

I have been a visitor to this forum for a long time. Got many questions answered just by following few threads. I thank every one who contributed to this forum. And to Mr. Rajiv S. Khanna who is willing to spend time and money on helping immigrant community.

Here is a chronology of my case...

2001
Applied for labor Apr 2001
Labor approved in Apr 2002

2002
Applied for I140 in May 2002
I140 approved in 30 days
Applied for I485 on 24th July 2002

2003/2004
Address changed in June 2003
Sent AR 11 in June 2003
RFE issued on Feb 2004
Received RFE in May 2004 delayed due to address change.
Address change request made via NCSC did not make it to VSC for some reason, had to make several calls to finally get the address changed
RFE for DOB, EMP Letter, Pay stubs and w2.
Replied to RFE in Jun 2004
Received FP2 in July 2004, completed in July 2004 in Manchester, NH

Called NCSC for status request in Aug 2004. Told to wait for three weeks to get a reply from VSC
Registered with USCIS website for email approvals on 9th Sept 2004 around 1:12 PM
Received status change email notification on two cases with in two hours by 3:18 PM

Waiting for the notice

Both my wife’s case and mine are approved on the same day.

I have few questions any answers are greatly appreciated.

1. How long it normally takes for approval notice to arrive?

2. How long one has to wait for the stamping/interview? Will it be within two weeks after approval?

3. I have an upcoming India trip in Oct first week; will we be able to get the passports stamped before we leave?

4. Where will we be going for stamping Boston, MA/Manchester, NH?

Wishing for the very best and quick approvals for every one who is still waiting.

FP1 - SEP 2002
RFE RECEIVED: MAY 2004
RFE RESPONDED: JUN 2004
FP2 - JUL 2004
AD – SEPT 9, 2004

ans: with in 2 weeks
2. How long one has to wait for the stamping/interview? Will it be within two weeks after approval?
ans. i think you can go stamping as approval arrives
3. I have an upcoming India trip in Oct first week; will we be able to get the passports stamped before we leave?
ans. I beleive you canmake it.
4. Where will we be going for stamping Boston, MA/Manchester, NH?
ans: isn't it approval notice will mention it???

A: I got my emails on last Tuesday and got the approval notices on Friday(9/10/04). But approval date and notice date are 9/4/04.

2. How long one has to wait for the stamping/interview? Will it be within two weeks after approval?

Q: You can get the stamping on any day after you receive your courtesy copies. I got it done today using courtesy copies (since my attorney posted the originals yesterday, and I haven't received themyet.)

3. I have an upcoming India trip in Oct first week; will we be able to get the passports stamped before we leave?

A: I hope that you can get your passports stamped by then.

4. Where will we be going for stamping Boston, MA/Manchester, NH?

A: Our notices indicate Boston, but we went to Manchester, NH. It took altogether 15 minutes.

I would like to go to Manchester, NH since it is close to my place, easy to get to, and no lines.

Will update after I get my PP stamped.

Update on stamping.

We got our passports stamped this morning in Manchester, NH office. It went pretty smooth, went there around 8:40 thinking the office is open at 9 AM (INS Website said so). The office was already open and there are few people waiting.

Got a ticket with A initial like A1, A2 etc.

Our number was called my an officer at the window in about 30 minutes. Officer asked for all the documentation (Approval Notice, all EAD and AP, two photos.)

Asked us to sign on the application, nnd took our index finger print on the application form.

Stamped the passport.

All done. Took close to 15 min for my wife and myself.

Now waiting for the plastic card. Have a trip to India scheduled in OCT if luck favours will get the plastic card in time.

Has any one got their plastic card after staming in Manchester, NH and how long it took for the card to arrive?
