Hi everyone:
I passed my naturalization interview on Sep. 14, 2009 at Orlando, FL Office, everything went well; I requested name change (basiccaly made my middle name as first name and first name as middle name). the officer told me that I should recieve the date of my ceremony in a week or two from that day. thre weeks went by, and nothing. We went to the office to ask abou it and they say that hasn't been schedule any judicial ceremony and they didn't know of any upcoming ones for their offfice.
A friend of mine had his interview three days ago Oct. 13 and he already has a oath ceremony.
I found out later that judicial ceremony at Orlando offce takes longer, can you please tell me your experience and time frame with judicial ceremony? Do you know of any upcoming ones for October 2009 or later on?
In the other hand, my husband and I want to travel for a long period of time outside the country but we are waiting in the ceremony; I really don't care much if I change my name or not if this is going to cause major delays. Does any one knows if you can change your mind after request has been made? We are planning to go to uscis office next week and ask them if they don't have a schedule judicial ceremony yet to please ignore the name change request and do the administrative ceremony. Will they get offend by it? I don't know what is the process at all.
Your comments are truly apprecited. thanks a lot!
