Judgement day in local sub-office (wichita)

Tomorrow, I will have take to take my whole family for an interview in the local sub-office (Wichita). Until now, we (including my attorney) still don't know why we were scheduled for an “employment based” interview. I guess it might the random pick thing – for quality purpose. My attorney wanted to tag along to see what the problem is – no extra cost. I just hope this whole thing will go smooth. I’m from the non-retrogress country and PD is current (EB2).

Does anyone know how long for the officer to make a decision? Right after the interview or a few days? There is a possibility they might send it back to Kansas City (Originally from Nebraska, then to local office Kansas City) again for final decision. Anyway, will see………………… :)

Hi buddy

Yes sometimes there is an interview for EB categories too. In this forum I have also noticed about discussing on this interview stuff but not much. You should not worry too much about this. Make your documents ready whether it is mentioned in your notice or not. sometimes whatever document you included while you petitioned the same stuff might be asked for by the immigration officer. Good that your attorney is tagging you guys. If there is an issue he can resolve then and there.

Good luck

Good Luck ckf

Can you let us know the timeline of your transfer notice and your interview date? when did you receive your transfer notice and when did you receive your interview notice?

My 485 just got transferred to local office in Milwaukee so I was just wondering when I'll get interview notice.

In any case good luck for your interview.

thanks

Thanks.
I got my transferred notice on 9/8/06. About 30-45 days later, I got the interview notice. I don't have the exact date with me currently because I'm at work now.

Though I was under NIW category that does not require a permanent employment, but still it is "employment-based" (EB2) and I got transferred. And a friend of mine was in the same boat. So, it is never true that only family-based cases can be transferred.

Hi

How did the interview go? Pl. share your experience.

The interview was over, but was a little bit different than the other people in this forum. We didn't have any social chat. She was a very professional. All questions were related to my case. She also asked to see the labor approval notice, which was not listed in the inteview notice letter. Luckily, we have it.

The other items that she asked were tax return, passport, social security card, and H1-B.

In fact, thank God the lawyer was there with us the whole time. He did help answer some of the questions.

Anyway, our cases were pending currently. No news for now. will let ya know later.

Today, my Christmas present arrived.

Wait is finally over. Received approval notice today (12/23/06). According to the letter, it was approved on 12/08/06. Also, it said that the card will arrive in 8-12 months. I really don't know why it take so long.

Good Luck to those who are still waiting, and Happy Holiday to everyone.
