joint sponsor

Hello! I just want to start off by saying I've been following this forum and it's SO helpful!

Secondly, I am married to a USC and he is currently switching jobs. I want to start my paperwork asap since I've been married for 1 year and 3 months already without doing anything.

I do have a co-sponsor. Does my husband still need to submit his taxes and letter of employment, or will the co-sponsor's do until the interview?

Thanks so much for your help! :)

As of the new I-864, you're only *required* to include last year's 1040 as proof of income. Did your husband's income last year meet the poverty requirement?

no

he didn't meet the requirements because he got sick and couldn't work and is only getting back up on his feet now...
we're working on getting his taxes done...but since he doesn't work at the same place..it's somewhat troublesome...

I believe you are still required to submit his 2005 1040, even if you are filing with a joint sponsor I'm afraid.

Hi, just wanted to add my 2 cents, I was a USC when I married my dh. I didn't have enough income to be his only sponsor, but I had to fill out paperwork as the main sponsor including my tax return. I had my cousin co-sponsor, and everything turned out fine. He had NO problems. Of course, this was 7 yrs. ago.
