Hello,

My sister will be a citizen soon and wants to file for our parents .

She does not work and has no personal income of her own ie dependent on spouse's income .

I am a GC holder and have 3 dependents ( wife and children ) and I am above the poverty line .

Question :
1) Can me and my sister show a joint affidavit of support with my income as a qualifier to file Green card for our mother ?
2) Does any body see any other issue ?

I will be grateful for your comments and suggestions .

Thank you in advance .

regarding your question

well your sister and you can be the joint sponsor, however both of you must sign a joint sponsor contract....remember that if:

sponsor a has 3 dependents plus himself he ot she must make iqual or greather the amount of the poverty line for 5 people plus the wife if she is claim on the income tax return...remember anyone can be a joint sponsor as long as they are USC or LPR and the income is enough

remember once again that whatever amount of dependent the sponsor made he or she shall always add the the person for whom the I 863 is for and make the amount igual to that number of dependent on the poverty guide line, aslo remember that if said sponsor have aslo assisted another immigrant in filing an I 864 in the past and that person has not since that time become a USC or meet the 40 quarters of quota the sponsor shall also include that person as a dependant and meet the qualifiying amount for all those dependant on the poverty guideline.........

i am not an attorney ....
