Joef?? Waiting for stepdaughter. How long?

I (US citizen) did a direct consular filing for my husband (Tanzanian, naturalized Belgian) through the US embassy in Belgium and it went fast. He is in the US since January.Got green card and all the tools necessary to function here. He even got five (yes 5!!!) "Welcome to America" notices from HC. His daughter is still in Tanzania and I have petitioned for her (I-130) as stepdaughter. Receipt from HC is dated end of November. The US embassy in Belgium had said that the reunification would be fairly fast. Yet, we have had no news. I have not yet even had to send affidavit of support. What gives? The number on the receipt tells me that it could take up to 999 days. This is not what we were told. Can anyone shed light on ths duration of this procedure?

Coming back to your question, what you got (900-999 days) is a standard template everyone receives. For more accurate dates, you should look at the Department of State Visa Bulletin here... http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_2924.html
