Mr. JoeF,
These are the questions.
1) Where it should be filed? In one of the four INS centers?
2) What is the current minimum and maximum time frames for approval in all these centers? What if one want it in emergency?
3) Can a person apply for it and leave U.S.? Can somebody mail reentry permit to the person outside of U.S.?
4) What if one applied for it and after approval one do not use it? Because one mentions solid reasons for applying. So when one does not use, will it be suspicious?
5) What if a person want to return much before two years of validity of re-entry permit? Let us say just after six months.
6) Can a person apply for second time for re-entry permit? How may times if at all permitted?
7) Will the two years count towards citizenship?
8) Also when somebody outside of USA on re-entry-permit,do one has to maintain residence in US,and file taxes in U.S.? What else one has to do to preserve GC.
I appreciate your time and thanks in advance.
