Job titles and TN professions list

I read in most of the websites that real life job titles don't match with NAFTA professions list. are CAD operators and GIS technicians eligible to get TN visa? if the job title doesn't match but the job requirements say that they need an engineering technologist / an engineer for this position and if the job letter outlines all these details, will anyone be able to get a TN visa at border?

Yes GIS is included. It's in a sub catagory under Urban Planning. My friend got his through Scientific Technician catagory without a problem, but I was originally denied with that title and they told me to change it to Urban Planning. So I did 6 or 7 TN's under Urban Planning for my GIS position.

Just state in your letter the title of the job (eg. Geographican Information Systems Tech or Analyst or whatever) and state you are applying under the Urban Planning and you should be fine. Don't use the "GIS" term as there's a nursing thing that also uses the term GIS and that might get them confused. So just make sure you state geography and you should be fine...

Actually I re-read my comment and it was supposed to say Geography is a sub catagory under Urban Planning not GIS...
