what kind of job title has better chance right now for labor cert?
i have master's in electrical engineering and i try to avoid any IT related job. What do you think is suitable for labor cert from my background? (my company is flexible)

second question,
from many threads that i read so far, software related jobs are very hard to get labor cert now. so, basically, should we just forget about it?

also, where can i find info for PERM? and if i file labor cert now, will it be affected if PERM is in effect later?

Job title does not really matter (maybe being a manager would help - but not sure of that because there are way too many mangers on the loose right now), it is the job description which matters more. SESA would look at the job description and assign the DOT code based on the job description. I believe it pays to be honest (but then I believe in a lot of things), so describe what you actually work on.

"should we just forget about it" you ask, well that is a decision you have to make and live with. PERM is yet to be implemented, they have been dawdling with it for the past 3 years (or maybe more), also there are hints that people who file now, can move to PERM, so if I were in your position I would apply right away.

Remember LC stage is not tied to you, so even if you get rejected through one channel, there is no way to track that the previous application was filed for you and got rejected, your name gets added to the LC only after it gets approved and you move to the 2nd stage (i140)
