Job title change & H-1

hi,

I am in a big university on H-1, and I just got promotion to Assistant Research Scientist. That involved no change in salary, and no change in my responsibilities and job description.

Should something be done with my H-1? Amended LCA, or amended I-129, or letter to BCIS?... anything else?...

In current paperwork, somehow my job title is "software engineer" on LCA and "research associate" on I-129.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

[P.S. If anybody wonders, the job title change was necessary for green card application -- university would do it only for academic position holder].

I'd say no since there has been no material change in your employment. However, this should be discussed with the responsible attorney.
