Job requirements

I need information about job requirements.
It is required that I have 2 years of work experience in last 5 years. The job must be from work zone >7. It must be a job that requires at least 2 years of technical training.
Does this means only that the job requires technical training or that I need to show proof that I had 2 years of technical training for that job (as the lady from video explains)?

Your question is not clear to me. it would be easier to give the job this person is doing and for how long. however this info can be checked out on the online jobs site provided.....

If you don't meet the basic education requirements, you need two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform.

So basically it is a combination of what you said. It must be a >Work Zone 7 job, you need to have worked that job for at least two years, and at the very least it must take two years of technical training to perform that job.

Yes but check this

Work Experience: If you are qualifying with work experience, you must have two years of experience in the last five years, in an occupation which, by U.S. Department of Labor definitions, requires at least two years of training or experience that is designated as Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) rating of 7.0 or higher. The U.S. Department of Labor provides information on job duties, knowledge and skills, education and training, and other occupational characteristics at their website http://online.onetcenter.org/. The O*Net online database groups work experience into five "job zones." While many occupations are listed, only certain specified occupations qualify for the Diversity Visa Program.

Training OR experience?
My job is in Zone 5. Is it necessary to have some kind of 2yr training or is it enough to have experience in job?

The qualifying employment would require the individual to have needed two years of work experience in order to perform the work duties. The amount of time spent in the actual employment is in and of itself irrelevant. It's simply to ascertain whether you have valuable skills.

That's just my interpretation of the written English, as I haven't looked into it any further because I'm using my education to meet the requirement.

As far as I understood the DV_2013_instructions.pdf. (page 2) the DoS meant you needed both at least two years experience and training because Job Zone 4/5s are skilled labour and thus it would be automatic to assume that a significant level of preparation is required before the individual claiming eligibility under those Job Zones could perform them adequately in the United States.

I would assume training and experience could occur at the same time in some cases. (E.g. Librarian) but not for others (E.g. Lawyers/Orthodontists) as it takes years before you can practice law/dentistry. (Not to mention educational requirements presumably?)

Work Zone 5 jobs are jobs that require "Extensive Preparation." If you are going to claim eligibility under the employment you are doing right now, the DoS will almost certainly want proof that you have undertaken the job you are currently carrying out to a high level that shows you have been comprehensively trained for.

It's very interesting that you are claiming under Job Zone 5 (high skilled) but not under basic High School 12 year education.

Best of luck radovic!

Slash dot has the correct interpretation. What I meant to write was that it doesn't matter how long you spent with any particular employer, just as long as you had the two years of experience.

The employment route seems to exist for a small number of very skilled people who for whatever reason did not finish or can't prove they finished high school.

Yes. We know that but question is about Job + training? or just job?

It seems like you need both. But I can't think of a valid reason why experience would be of any concern if the applicant has surpassed the relevant skills threshold. Maybe fraud prevention or to stop elderly people entering the US if they aren't going to use those skills..
