Job Change

I applied I-140/I-485 in Jan05. Is it so that if I change job with in same company with different profile, I have to restart my green card process from begining. How long I should work in same role or same company, so that my green card process is not reset.

you can only change jobs if I-140 approved and I-485 pending for more than 180 days...also the new job has to be in same category with similar salary...
