Job change without approved I-140?

Hi,
I have just received a job offer from another company.

My labor is cleared. My I-140 & 485 were filed concurrently with VSC recently. The company is in a different state. They are willing to wait for six months from now. However, I am quite sure my I-140 will not be cleared by then.

My question is: I know there is a risk in changing jobs without the 140 being approved, but are there any cases where someone has actually tried to do this? If so, was their case approved or denied?

I'm trying to get an idea of the risks associated with doing this. I would really like to take that job.

I have done for different reason. I was laid off. We were laid off. Did not have any other choice. Company did not inform CIS. I-140 was approved after 14 months. Waiting for I-485. Just do not know what will happen
