Job change question. Please help.

Hi all,

I am with the current employer since last 6 years. I applied my I485 in Nov 2001 and still waiting for approval. I am planning to quit the employer and join my friend's company as independent. Is it a problem if I do this. Let me know if you have similar exprience.

You certainly can change job. But your new job must be 'similar' and also must be a job and not a partnership. Also the new employer must have demonstratable 'ability to pay' your 'similar' salary.
