I got my GC approved early September 2003. Now I got a job offer FROM WITHIN my company, but the job is of different nature from the one I applied for my GC. I applied my GC as a software developer, but the new job is in the financial area.
Also, the salary for the new job is $1000 lower than the salary for my labor certification petition.
Does any one know whether this is perfectly legal? Will this change jeopardize my GC status?
My lawyer told me briefly that after 60 days of AOS I have no problem changing jobs, but I am not quite sure because I saw many disscussions regarding this and some people recommend 6 months, some say 1 year.
