Job at risk due to PERM filing?

I filed for LC before PERM started under the non-RIR LC process. Since less than 2 years are pending in H1, I wanted to change to PERM. Talked to HR and they are unwilling to file under PERM and gave this reason. Under PERM , they have to interview ALL the candidates who meet the requirements and if they pass the interview, an offer must be extended. If the candidate accepts the job they will hire him/her and I'LL LOSE MY JOB  ..Is this true??.

well in theory yes...but that's true with the regular/rir processes, the employer needs to show good faith when doing the recruitment process...

now, that doesn't mean they need to automatically fire you, and to tell you the truth if the case is well built they won't find anybody to fill up your position (I mean US citizens or GC holders),...
