Jim Mills - Thanks a lot for looking into my issues. There are no problems so far but my case is complex.
my I-140 approved in Feb 2002.
1. I am on H1 and my wife on H1 working for same company. (Any problem for AOS ?)
2. My passport is expiring in October - is there any problem because the validity of passport is limited now.
3. My wife\'s H1 extension is with the INS somewhere in Washington - Her H1 expired in Last Oct and got a new one approved. She sent it for stamping by mail. So, she does not have a "Stamped H1" right now. She only got the copy of Approval notice with her. Any problem ?
4. My wife received Medicare Aid from state govt when she became pregnant ( 6 weeks ) Will this be a problem.

Thinking of all these issues, I am really getting worried.. Please help.

I\'m not Jim M but I will give it a shot.

THERE WON\'T BE ANY PROBLEM. I KNOW A LOT CO-WORKERS WHO ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION.

2. My passport is expiring in October - is there any problem because the validity of passport is limited now.

I DON\'T SEE ANY PROBLEM. YOU SHOULD RENEW YOUR PASSPORT ASAP BUT YOU CAN STILL FILE I-485.

H1B STAMP IS FOR HER ENTRY INTO THE US. AFTER SHE ENTERS THE US, SHE WILL BE IN H1B STATUS. IT LOOKS THAT SHE IS ALREADY IN H1B STATUS. SHE WILL ONLY NEED THE H1B STAMP IN THE PASSPORT NEXT TIME SHE TRAVELS. ALTERNATIVELY, SHE CAN ALWAYS USE ADVANCED PAROLE AFTER YOU FILED I-485. AGAIN, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR I-485 FILING.

4. My wife received Medicare Aid from state govt when she became pregnant ( 6 weeks ) Will this be a problem.

I DON\'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT ONLY PERMANENT RESIDENTS CAN GET MEDICARE AID FROM THE GOVERNMENT. BUT I COULD BE WRONG.

Thanks a lot - That gives me 75% Relief. I will wait for someone to clarify the last one. My lawyer always says "fill these two forms and give me" that is all you need to do - But we are humans and we cannot avoid thinking about these issues.
