This question is regarding Visitor\'s visa. After they get stamping for visitor visa,in the passport they give a period of 6 months from the day of stamping. My question is that the six month period starts after they land in US or from the day they get stamping.
For ex,if they get stamping on April1,2002 and they mention till Oct1,2002(6 months from april), and if she lands here on August can she stay till 6 months from Aug.
Please let me know how it works.

The 6 months stay starts when the person goes through immigration and get the stamp. In other words the day the person enter the US that's when the 6 months start. Good luck.

What ever be the date on visa the date that matters is the date they get on on their I-94 when they enter USA .So MOST probably it will be 6 months from the date of entry which depends on the I-94 expire date

Absolutely correct. The dates on the visa stamp itself (it can be valid for as much as 10 years, control the dates that the visa stamp is valid for entry, not how long you can stay. The I-94 controls length of stay and that is determined by the border offical at the Port of Entry.
