I am a new comer in this forum. I need to discuss few things with you peopleand i hope someone can give me a advice.
I am currently in NY and I am planning to get 2007 match for ECFMG . I have few questions about my j1. iam a doctor but then i quitted medicine and joined other job (entirely different from my medical job).I came here on j 1(r)with 2 years home residency requirement for doing masters in a govt of us funded programme in my new field. i have passed my usmle exams and iam planning for applying for residency.is it possible for me to get my visa converted to j1 clinical here?can you pl tell me what will be the procedure? will i be eligible or ill have to go back and get my visa restamped for clinincal?If I go back can I apply immediately for j1 clinical or ill have to wait for some time(any specific time limit)can I get j 1 clinical stamped from some other country like Canada or mexico?
Finally if I get NOC from my government about j1 waiver or I offer US government to pay their money back can I apply for green card
pl help me out iam really desperate at this stage?
