I need to travel to India immediately due to family emergency. I am using EAD (H visa expired) and the I-94 has also expired. Have a valid AP. Got FPed on Jan 30. ND for 1-485 is Aug 01.

1. Will the expired I94 cause problems?
2.If there is approval of 1-485 when I am away, do I have to get the PP stamped immediately? or do we have time between approval and stamping?

No, the unexpired AP is good enough.

While entering US, you'll be in a different queue for AP holders. The officer normally checks the status of your I-485 at that point. He/She will stamp your I-94 card for 1-month (not the usual 1 year) validity! That's an indication that your I-485 is approved. Once you come home, take the approval notice and get your stamping done.
