How did I know I was going to get screwed ... FB1 has been moving at a pace of one month for the past 2... had it stayed its course, it would have covered my Feb 4th 2002 PD and I would have been good.... but of course... it moved by 3 weeks instead... to Feb 1st 2002... and now I'm stuck waiting another month so they can cover 3 days before I can submit my I485... oye... now the worst thing that can happen is for them not to move it at all... unlikely but it has happened... otherwise, I'm good, no matter what... but that's a big IF.

It is good news that EB3 remains same 01MAY01. Since they didn't use any EB3 visa numbers I hope in next few months it will move to 2004. Before it moved to 2001 , it was at june 2003. Hope for the best.

It's not likely that they will retrogress as they recently came back from a nice retrogression period.... besides, you will most likely know ahead of time if a retrogression is to be expected... or at least I hope

With retrogression, you never know ... e.g. EB-2 for India was April 2004 for a couple of months, then retrogressed over 2 years in one month, and now another 2 years to Jan 2000.

I think the government (USCIS + DOS) is just poor in planning/coordinating the availability of visa numbers.

But, I certainly wish you that your category contines to move forward!
