I was on a J1 before subject to 2 year home residency requirement. I am currently on a F1, which expires in June 2009 (my I-20 states June 2011). I want to renew my F1 as well as get J1 waiver.
For the J1 waiver part, I have received the NORI from indian officials.
If I open a case with the Department of State / USCIS for the J1 waiver, will I be able to get my F1 renewed?
