At what stage do we need the case number from the DOS? I need to get my j1 waiver forms attested from my embassy, wud I need a case number for that? If not, do we need the case number for sending the letters to india? I read somewhere that we can send the letters to the embassy ourselves as well..Is it possible that I start the case number process and the attestation from the indian embassy together? i have heard it takes 1-2 months to get a case number....
