J1 Visa transfer to something else??

Hello,

I have a friend who is an aupair from Ukraine.
She has a J1 visa and her aupair agency is the one sponsoring her to be here.

But there was a problem with the family that she was staying at and could no longer have her... so her agency said that they will try to find her a new family but if they dont they will need to send her home.... so they basically gave her 2 weeks for this.


My question: can she, in her 2 weeks apply for a J1 transfer to find another sponsor in which she could work for or maybe go to school? or is 2 weeks not enough time to get complete a visa transfer?

Also if she were to transfer her visa to become a tourist with me submitting financial support and everythign else thats needed - how long will it take to get it?

I basically just want whatever is possible for her to stay here legally.

Please help and advice on what we should do.
I've tried to even help her agency find a new family and will continue to do so but just wanted to see if there were any alternatives out there.

Transfer of J1 visa depends on sponsor. Changing the status depends on the whether she is subjected to 2 year home residency.
 
She can find some language school which will issue her I-20 and she can use the I-20 and change into F-1 visa.
