I seem to recall someone telling me the following thing. Will you tell me if it is true?
That once your DS-2019 is expired (and you're doin HRR, etc, etc) if your J1 Visa is still valid, then you can use it for entry as a B2 Visa for tourism.
I'm just trying to avoid a trip to the consulate to apply for a new B2 Visa. Not planning on waiving HRR or anything like that. But my DS-2019 is expiring soon, I will go back to my country, but my J1 Visa on my passport is valid for another year. Can I use it as a tourist B2 Visa?
