J1 visa and asylum (chaos) Hope you can help!!

Since you are J1 which means you are on work/travel. Your sponsor can do nothing. Well, any reactions would be that you will be illegal and will referred to court if denied. And if denied in court as well, then I guess you can say good bye to the US. I would suggest you to join some language school or something. I don't know how it exactly works but one I guy I knew from Russia with J1 went to Church for some language class and maintained status somehow. You can research that or discuss with your lawyer.
