Hi All,
I got to the US on a J1 as a research scholar to the University of ***** with "Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics" as the field (on my DS2019). The Visa is valid till the august of 2007; and am not subject to 2 yr HRR. I do have a confirmation on that from the Department of State that i'm not a subject.
The job responsibilities were bioinformatics related (i have a testimonial from the professor). I smoothly exited J1 as my professor retired and I moved to an IT firm (i have a Diploma in Computer applications, and have work experience).
Currently am on a H1B for about 9 months now. I'm planning on getting the Visa stamped (still has the J1 stamp on my passport)
Has anyone shifted job structures with varied educational backgrounds and still had a successful visa stamping?
Any quick responses sincerely appreciated.
Many Cheers
Raghu
