My husband is on J1 visa currently doing a research fellowship with National Institutes of Health. He is planning to do a medical residency program. We have obtained NORIs from the respective agencies in India. We have already crossed the maximum limit of the J1 visa which would expire in 2007. Whats the best possible way for him to start his residency? Can he extend his J1 visa? or should he try to get a H1?
