I am a doctor having a offer for postdoctoral fellowship for 2 years on J1.
I am on B2 visit in USA . 1)Can I change my status from B2 to J1 here without going back to my home country. 2) I have listened that I can apply but chances are less. Then if I am applying and if denied for J1 here, then what about my B2 visa. 3) does the rule of HRR also apply J1 research scholar visa? 4)if after 2 years i am applying for residency can i use that J1 still for my residency.
