Hello can anyone help me with legalities. I am currently on J1 and my wife on J2 with EAD, our visas expire March 07 but as my wife's employer is sponsoring her for a green card through PERM (EB3) I am guessing we will not be able to work until a visa number is available which could be years. I am currently working on the work experience part of my J1, I am not actually
an employee and tax etc are not deducted from my wage check - I am paid a check each week for services so I guess I am a contractor. Can I start a partnership with my wife (I have already registered the company name and have an EIN) I am about to open an business account with my existing bank. Is there a way that I can have my "wage" check paid into teh company and then the company just pay for me rent as part of a business expenditure?? ie only business expenses, vehicle, fuel etc to be taken out of the company?? Could that work or is this illegal while waiting to file I485?
