I think i'm one of the luckiest people who has the J1 residency requirement.
My statement of reason is "

Dear Department of States,
I have been on a valid F-1 student visa right now and I'm marrying to a USC. I need a waiver to adjust my status".
Yes, it's that simple. and I was a J1 student then I applied for F1 student, FYI.

Here is my timeline:
1.March 10th 2012: Mail all the documents to DOS by USPS
2.March 12th 2012: Call my embassy and asking for NOS statement
3.March 13th 2012: mail all the required documents to Embassy in WA DC
4. March 17th 2012: got a copy of NOS from Embassy to my house address
5.March 26th 2012: My documents to DOS received
6. April 10th 2012: NOS from embassy to DOS recieved
7. April 10th 2012: On the top of the page it said " Favorable Recommendation".

so, here is my situation so far and I believe with a favorable recommendation, the chance of getting waiver is high. and yes, it takes an exact 1 month from the day I mailed the form to get a favorable recommendation status online.
anyone knows what's going to happen next?
