Hello to you ...... :)

I am very new to US. I am an engineer came from Germany. I can only get the H1B start on Aprl 2007 (application) for Oct 2007 (work) . So then I try to get J1 Visa first and then planning to change to H1B.

Please tell me dear,

1. Is any company has the right to sponsor J1 visa (my sponsorship is private company).

2. Is J1 has to be obtained through AIPT or other authorized institution assigned US government ?

3. How long the J1 process takes time ?

4. Is engineer work tied to 2 years residential regulation J1...?

5. Salary limit on J1 ?

Really need your answer and clarify.......thank you.....

Hi

1. You are subjected to 2 year HRR.

2. If i were you ,i 'd like to get H1B visa directly. J1 will lead you more questions in the future if you plan to get GC.

1. Yes, your company can sponsor you on a J-1 visa for training in the U.S.
2. Yes, the DS-2019 must be issued by an agency authorized by the govt
3. It depends on which agency you use, but typically between 1-6 weeks.
4. German nationals are NOT subject to the 2 year home residency requirement
5. You will not receive a "salary" on the J-1 visa, but rather a "stipend." This should typically be between $300 - $1000 per week.

Hope this helps!

Question: can my company issue DS 2019 from DOS?

3. It depends on which agency you use, but typically between 1-6 weeks.

Question: Is all agency normally give agreement to J1 waiver ?
4. German nationals are NOT subject to the 2 year home residency requirement

Question: If more than 1,000/week, would it be a problem ? they suspicious of kind of fulltime employment (you know I try to get around full cap 2006, so I use J1 temporary after J waiver change to H1)

Hope this helps!

Please help to answer my above questions...

Thank you...God Bless......you just don't know how difficult I am to start a new life in US.....:) Really appreciate your advise ......
