I am a physician, currently on J-1 visa married to an American Citizen for 2 1/2 years, also have one baby, born in america
Is there any way other than HPSA waiver to legalise in the system.
 
well some people try hardship waiver but that works in very extraordinary cases and i believe its not easy to get it
 
Try Hardship waiver you will need to file I-612 ( very simple form) but you will have to stress more on additional hardship documentations .

I was successful in getting I-612 hardship waiver for my wife and also simultaneously got HPSA conrad 30 waiver in california. But USCIS will only give one waiver (FIFO) try filing hardship waiver at your local USCIS office first. It took less than 4 month for jardship waiver process. ( USCIS is very efficient)

How did you successfully argue the hardship waiver ??

They are efficient, but more typically in denying them.
