Hi All, Simple Question
I am a Doctor
I am on H4 visa currently cleared USMLE and planning to apply for job (residency)
If I get J1 visa will it get adjusted when my husband files for his GC (right now he is on H1)?

Hi,
It is not that simple... Once you are on J-1 then even if spouse is on GC or a citizen it doesnt matter. You will have to find a way to get the home residency requirement satisfied before you can change to any other type of visa.

One quick question. So is it adviseable to take the Step3 and apply for H1 rather than a J1? Coz I think I'm not elligible for H1 until I have cleared my Step3. What's the usual procedure that Doctors follow? What are the pros and cons associated with H1 over J1.
