I came to US in 2001 with J1 and just worked for 1 year as research scholar, then next year, 2002, I got a F-1 for Ph.D in my home country and I am working with OPT now. It will be expired in Aug, 2008.
I would like to apply for a postdoc position. They just support J-1 visa.
My question is
1. Can I go back my home country and apply for new J-1?
2. As I know, 12 and 24 month bars are effective on or after November 17th, 2006.
Am I still subjected to 12 and 24 month bars?
3. If yes, please let me know how I can stay in US after OPT.
