J and I485

Hi All:

I made a mistake with my I-485.

On the I-485, they ask if you are(were) J visa holder. My answer is No.
(J holder should return to his home country after staying in US for
three years unless he obtains the waiver. ) The fact is, I was. I said
no because I did not read it carefully.

However, my lawyer did included in the package the wavier approval
notice. Do you think this will be a problem for me? Will the INS think
I am lying?

If the question is some thing like this and you have obtained waiver or stayed outside US then your answer is ok:

 Have you ever been a J nonimmigrant exchange visitor who was subject to the 2 year foreign residence requirement and not yet complied with that requirement or obtained a waiver

Do not take my answer as final, always better to talk to your lawyer and decide.
