Hi,
My husband is in final year of his residency and has obtained his J 1 waiver. He is in the process of applying for his H1b to start his employment from june 2008. I am currently on J 2 visa, I am going to start my residency from June 2008 in a hospital which only sponsors J1 ( and not H1). My question is
1) Is it possible to convert J 2 to J1? Do I have to leave the country (US) for that?
2) Is if safe? I fear that the consulate officer might question my non-immigrant intent as my husband has already received his waiver.
