J-1 Trainee embassy interviews

Hi,

I would value any feedback about the J-1 trainee visa interview experience in US embassies abroad. Does embassy personnel require to present and explain the training plan and/or inquires regarding the size of the salary/stipend offered? Is the interview a painful process with a lot of scrutiny or pretty straitforward one?

Any inforamtion is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Andrey

Pretty painless!

When I got my J1 it was a quick interview (that was back in November 2002)...they didn't even ask me question related to the program. All the officer said was: So you want to study in the US? I replied: Yes...She checked my IAP-66, revised my passports several times (I've been coming to the US since I was 6 months old) and that was it. Didn't even last 10 minutes...
