I filed I-140 in July 2003 while on J-1 visa as Outstanding Researcher (EB-1); hope it will be approved soon and I can file I-485. My J-1 visa expires in 1 year and it looks like I'm not a subject to 2 years rule. Can I make a transition from J-1 to H-1B while my I-485 is pending?
