J-1 Student to J-1 Intern: must wait 90 days?
I read on this forum, by moderator "mmed" that:
I have been studying Engineering and I have an internship in Engineering. A number of the J-1 sponsors seem to put a blanket "90 days" between any J-1 and another J-1 (see eg: partner.ciee.org/wat/documents/2011SpSu_OverseasRep_Handbook_final.pdf
But if what mmed says is true, they should be more flexible.
Does anyone have more information or hope about this?
Thank you very much for replies

ref: forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?312510-second-J-1-category-internIt differ from case to case and from category to another. The rule is the second J should be in the same line and consistent with the previous one. The burden of approval that the second J is consistent with the previous one is on you. No written law with which type of J is consistent with which but if you have J visa to study biology it may be difficult if not possible to have another one to work as a hotel receptionist and so on.
