Folks,
I am a physician who came to US about 5 yrs ago to pursue a PhD on a F-1 visa. I entered residency training and for that I had to change my status from F-1 to J-1 in the US. I need to travel to India for urgent personal business. I only have a J-1 status but no visa stamp. I would have to apply for a J-1 visa at Bombay! Can anyone give me input about what documents to take and how easy/difficult would it be to get the visa. I need to return to complete residency training. I have a valid IAP-66, I-94, letters of support from the prog dir and ECFMG. THanks in advance.
