J-1 or E-2 with GC

Sorry to bother you abut that, but I would be very glad if could let me know your thoughts about my situation.
I have a J-1, expiring soon, and my company would like me to stay at least six more months, maybe more...
Personally, I would like, one day (the sooner the better), to apply for a GC.
Questions:
- Is it possible to apply for a GC with a J1 or an E2? If so, which one is the best?
- Is it possible to extend my J1 without going through my first sponsor, since they refuse to do so according to their programs?

I do not have to comply with the 2 year requirement.

Thank you in advance for your help... I am lost...

Neither the J1 nor the E2 is a route to obtain a green card. The maximum amount of time you can remain in the U.S. on a J-1 visa is 18 months. Have you already completed 18 months on your J-1 visa?

The E2 visa can only be used if the host company is at least 51% owned by nationals of your home country and the U.S. has a treaty with your home country that allows for E-2 visas.
