Dear immigration gurus,
I would love to get your opinion on the J-1 HRR and filing for AOS.
I filed for AOS as my husband's dependent 10 months ago and found out that I had uncompleted HRR from a J-1 I had 10 years back. I had no idea I even had a HRR, because I received H1-B twice (most likely the Dept of State made an error). I was a couple of months short toward my 2-yr HRR and am finishing it now with AOS pending. The Advisory Opinion I received recently confirmed that I am indeed subject to HRR due to government funding involved.
Does the HRR have to be completed at the time of AOS filing or before AOS application is processed? Is there a risk of denial and it is worth it to re-submit the application?
