Thank you all guys for your valuable comments. I am at the end of my one-year J1 program 212E (Two years home contry residence requirment), back home in august with my I-20. Could the 212E be a problem for my application for F-1? LucyMo, can you give some recommendations on the embassy passage from J1 to F1. In the interview, some critical points will be the financial statement and the ties to the home country. Any recommendations you guys can give me in order to make a good apllication in the embassy will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi trnt10
I had a similar stituation but I overcame it. I came to the US with J-1, graduated and went home. I applied for f-1. got it and now I am here. In addition, I plan to go out of the US and come back again with a new F-1. However, you need to make sure you have enough money in your account to make your case. I had a scholarship so it was easy I guess. Good luck.
