J-1 2-yr residency waiver - help!

Hi!

Could you pls. tell me what happens if you offer to pay back the amount of the grant? Is the No objection still necessary, or would it be easier to obtain?

Yes..

Waiver is still necessary even if you return the grant. Returning money does not influence timeline or decision of waiver.
