It's very urgent, please need your advice on H4 issue

I am on h1b and my wife is on h4 and our both visas valid until july 2006
( completes 6 years). I am joining new employer who is sponsoring h1 for me and company attorney says that h4 transfer is not required because h4 is valid until july 2006. Is that ok if my wife stays on previous employers h4 though I have changed my h1b to new employer??

I would be greatfull if you guys throw some ideas.
