ITIN and SSN

My wife's daughter is 20 years old and currently on an F1 visa. We filed the I-130 Petition for Alien Relative in August 2009. My stepdaughter has an SSN given to her by the universtity but can only use this to work on campus. She wants to work else where and we need to know if she can also get an ITIN while she awaits the I-130 and has the SSN from the university. Can she have both? Since she is partitioning for a change of status, can she work and not have to worry about the F1 visa status regarding employment while under this type Visa?

Since she has an SSN, she does not have an ITIN. She cannot work off campus without the new work approval.

Have you check on her petition recently?

Since she is a student, her best work option for success at college is her campus job which fits around her class schedule. Do not encourage her to take on too much work as her studies are the most important thing right now.
