Item 11 on I-765

Hey,

I have a question about Item 11 (Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?) on form I-765. I am a F-1 student, should my answer be yes, since I am on I-20 and am a research assistant? I am a student married to US citizen applying for GC.

No, this only applies if you've applied directly to USCIS for employment authorization such as an EAD for OPT or for hardship for example. If you work on campus as an F-1 student, you didn't apply for such an employment authorization. I've spent a couple semesters working as a research assistant and answered "no" to this question on my I-765.
